Here's a great news for all of you!!

I'm so excited and I'm sure at least some of you will be as excited as me when you read this post.

There's a new poetry competition called " POETRY RIVALS". All you need to do is to write a poem on any subject you want and in any poetic style!! Please check this website for more details.

SPRING AWAKENING COMPETITION

 

Animals are emerging from hibernation and fresh green shoots are appearing in the ground. It can mean only one thing: SPRING IS HERE!

Spring is a time for new life, fresh starts and a time for plants and trees to bloom into life once again.

How are you going to spend your school holidays?

Will you be outside enjoying the warmer weather or inside having a good spring clean?

Whatever you love about Spring, write a poem about it!

Your poems will be selected to feature in a special Spring Awakening anthology!

"POEMS FOR MAGNIFICENT MUMS" COMPETITION

This is another poetry competition that you can get sign up for. As you know Mother's Day is in March. I know it seems like a lot of time but actually it's not that far!! . You need to send in your poetry in celebration of your mother or mother figure, because a mum can come in many forms. It could be a step-mum, grandmother or female figure who has always been there for you. 

What would you like to say to her? 

Would you like to give thanks for all the things she's done for you or tell her why she is such a huge part of your life? 

What is it about her that is so special and makes her better than the rest? 

Whatever you would like to write for her...

SPOOKY..

   Are you ready for a challenge? 

This is a competition about writing a "ghost story". It can be terribly scary or simply funny!! 

Your Ghost story can be a maximum of 250 words. 

This is an open competition, they continually edit entries - producing several anthologies throughout the year.

Do you want to be famous?

           Hi everyone :) I have wonderful news for you! I'm sure most of you will be interested in it.

          There's a new English Language teaching programme co-produced by the BBC and the British Council called "Word on the Street". To get in to this competition, you need to shoot a short video ( max. 2 minutes) about a place that you like in your city. Imagine in it as a video version of a leaflet :)
             If you're interested in, please check out this website and contact me for more information! You need to be quick because the  competition ends on Monday,11th February 2013. I think this can be a fun activity that you can do during the term holiday!
              I forgot to mention :) Some selected videos will be screened on TRT Okul before or after the Word on the Street programme at 22:25 every Sunday.
